Safer with SCOUT Launches New Healthcare-Focused Workplace Violence Course
New Course Puts Healthcare Risk Under the Microscope – Delivering Proactive Solutions

Milwaukee WI., July 1, 2025 – Safer with SCOUT (Safety Culture Optimization, Understanding, & Training), the leader in PROACTIVE safety culture development is excited to announce the latest “Healthcare Focused” learning module is currently available in its growing course catalog.
“After a lot of requests from our existing healthcare clients, we’ve taken the best of our industry-leading workplace violence course and custom tailored that training to the needs and requirements of the healthcare industry,” said Tyler Weston, CEO and Founder of Safer with SCOUT (SwS). “By any standard of measurement, doctors, nurses, support staff, and contractors, are among the most highly exposed to risk from human violence, just by the nature of their jobs. They deal with heightened emotional situations daily, and to be able to proactively recognize the signs and signals that often precede confrontational events, not merely how to react to them, is of extreme importance in today’s world. This new course addresses those modern healthcare risk mitigation needs, continued Weston.”
“Avoidable Risk is at the heart of what we address,” added Dan Hanlon, Director of Training for Safer With SCOUT. “There are so many things that are beyond our individual control, but the ability to recognize sudden changes in attitude, tone, stance, behavior, emotional status, etc. is something every healthcare professional should practice constantly. Just as they diagnose and/or assess a patient, they should be conducting a similar exercise with their work environment. This is the key to not only surviving violent altercations, but to avoiding them altogether. As a 30-year law enforcement veteran, and human risk mitigation professional, it has been, and continues to be, my mission to help build courses that don’t simply provide the ‘how to’ in responding to bad situations, but to give people the knowledge and training to ‘read the room’ so to speak; allowing them to diffuse or steer clear of treacherous actions that can lead to escalation and critical instances. The bottom line is that if you can ‘avoid it’ then the more likely you make it home to your loved ones at the end of the shift.”
